I don't often revisit a book once I've reviewed it. Come to think of it, I never revisit a book once I've read and reviewed it. Like the old saying goes, 'there's a first time for everything'. This is my first.A long time ago, when this blog was in its infancy, I read and reviewed, Tales of Aradia, The Last Witch, Vol. OneI really liked the premise of the book. It had really great potential. But, I just could not get past some of the basic story telling issues. I ended up giving it a rather poor [...]

This book was given to me by the author L.A Jones so I want to say thank you to for giving this to me and I want to apologize for it taking me so long to read it. Now I am kicking myself for not starting it sooner. This book was amazing! Once I started it I didn't want to put it down, it started off with action and finished with action and leaving you wanting more. I love books like that! L.A Jones is such a gifted writer, doesn't give you any boring parts, keeps you entertained with fight scenes [...]

Tales of Aradia the Last Witch, tells the story of Rai. Rai is a teen with a good life. It is just her , her mom and dad. They have recently moved to Salem. Rai’s biggest concern is that she is different and will be judged different from others, in her very normal seeming life. Why Rai feels different is because she has powers to do unimaginable things;aid in healing, find things with her mind. So this causes her to feel like a freak, so she has attempted to downplay or hide it, just to fit in [...]

300 years ago, vampires scourged the countryside, eradicating witches. Annihilation was the goal, total genocide of the entire race of witches – and they were almost successful. Only the Seer of the Witches was able to elude them long enough to save her daughter, casting her into time. There, she was safe, born again in the future, not even knowing exactly who she is.In the present, Ross and Liza Preston are driving home after being told by a fertility clinic that they will never have a child. Tales of Aradia (The last Witch #1)L.A. JonesReviewed by S. Bree High YATRAradias world is awesome. I would love to visit and sit down and have a talk with her. We could sit and talk about all the things she has seen and learned. WOW! This book has everything. We have witches, vampires, faeries and wolves. I do not think anyone was left out. I love witch stories, and I knew about 10% into this book that I would enjoy it. Each character was described in vivid detail and had their story t [...]

Cross Superman with Twilight and you might get something like this book. With the same unpolished feel of the older comics, and the beautifully sensuous bodies of Twilight, it introduces a mix of “hidden races” to a modern-day high school in Salem, and adds that special something in the form of Aradia, a girl in search of identity.Unfortunately others are searching for Aradia’s identity too, and the author cleverly leaves readers wondering just who the bad guys are as the story progresses. [...]

From Lilac Wolf and StuffCan I just say that it's a good thing I'm not responsible for labeling books. What is this? Lots of things, Young Adult, Paranormal Romance, Paranormal Mystery, and a little humor thrown into the mix.Aradia has a wicked, off-beat sense of humor. In the book, she would occasionally deliver a zinger and everyone around her would just stand there. More than once she had to explain the joke, and more than once the joke fell flat. It was great! :)The werewolves are strong and [...]

Without repeating the information in the synopsis of this book. I really would have liked to give this book 5 stars but due to a fair few misspellings and grammatical errors within the story I could only give it 4 stars. The story itself I would give a whole 5/5. I loved the character development from the start including the main character Aradia (I would love to know if I'm actually pronouncing her name right too). I liked the fact that this story started with a prologue, it filled you in on wh [...]

I got this book on .I was asked to read/review this awesome book, and I am so glad I took the time to do so!!I loved this story! It was different which I really liked about it. I really love the names of all the characters. Aradia? It's such a cool name, I have never heard of it before. This book was fast past, and had lots of action. At first I thought it would be another love story. But it is not. Aradia is an out spoken, out going person. She says whats on her mind. I usually go for vampires [...]

L.A. Jones quickly establishes the conflict in this supernatural adventure in the prologue, and keeps the pages turning through the epilogue. Aradia, a descendent of a magical race known as witches that were believed to have been completely annihilated in the days of the Salem Witch Trials, becomes aware of her true ancestry in this first volume. Her and her adopted parents move to Salem looking for a fresh start following a series of unfortunate circumstances. Aradia begins to attend high schoo [...]

Review:Having exposed the Hidden beings – witches, vampires, weres, etc to the human race, the witches were systematically killed until only one was left. Hidden in the folds of time, Aradia had no knowledge of where she came from or why she could do the things she could do. Strange behavior and the struggle to control her powers during her childhood made her a lonely, shy girl. A move to Salem, MA helps change that. Strange behavior seems to be the norm in Salem and Aradia finds that she has [...]

In the prologue, there is a massacre of witches taking place simultaneously with the Salem Witch Trials (but the humans are not aware of it) by the other members of the hidden race (magical creatures) because they had been led to believe that the witches had exposed themselves to the humans and according to their laws that is punishable by death. However, we learn that the massacre was ordered by the master vampire because his demon seer saw that a witch would one day kill him and end his rule. [...]

My thoughts: The very popular paranormal genre can get a little tired if you read about a book every other day as I do. But with "Tales of Aradia" I did get a fresh new take on paranormal characters. The book really keeps your attention throughout, which is not an easy task for an author to do; so I give much respect to L.A. Jones for being able to do so.The book has a lot of potential and I do recommend it, but I did have a couple of issues with some of the editing and plot flow. I would also l [...]

I enjoyed this book, overall. Aradia is entertaining to mee is a teenager and has all the sass and fire that comes with it. She also stands by what she feels is right. She does make mistakes, but seriously what teenager doesn't make mistakes. Obviously she has special powers, but it is something she always knew about so it wasn't like it appeared out of nowhere. She also had learned a few lessons the hard way about her powers, however it had taught her to control them. She is a great character, [...]

This young adult novel is about your average high school student who really isn't so average.Aradia is the "new kid" at Salem (Massachusetts) High School. She can't help but notice that a larger-than-normal portion of the students are either incredibly handsome or incredibly beautiful. Those same people are openly staring at Aradia, and not just because of her flaming red hair.As time goes on, Aradia learns that the school is home to a large number of beings that go under the general name of "hi [...]

Tales of Aradia, The Last Witch(Volume 1) by L.A. Jones is a fun book about supernatural folk who live among us. Not just werewolves and vampires here, but everything from leprechauns and fairies to witches. Actually, let’s make that just one witch. You see, back around the time of the Salem witch trials there was also a bit of anti-witch fever among the world of the hidden races and it was believed that every witch was killed from existence; in fact, for a fair amount of time in this story no [...]

LA Jones has written a plot that is both interesting and intriguing and knows how to tell a good tale. I found the setting and the idea for the book an imaginative modern-day twist on an old story. A young girl named Aradia is found in the woods and adopted by a couple named Ross and Liza. Although they’ve always realized their child is special, Ross and Liza don’t realize just how special she is until a job transfer causes the family to move to Salem. There the story really begins.Vampires [...]

I received this book free from the author in exchange for an honest review.I really enjoyed this book. I found the storyline to be a fresh take on the oh so popular paranormals genre. I don't think that I have read another book where the main character is the last of a species and I liked it. I also liked how it wasn't just certain species that were included we meet a variety and others are talked about, so hopefully in future books we learn about other types as well. I found this book to be an [...]

Rai knows she is not a normal person, but neither she nor her parents know why. Her family moves to Salem, and she hopes to be able to hide her uniqueness in a new town. She does make some new friends, the first she has ever had. Unfortunately, she finds that Salem lives up to its reputation in that there are werewolves, vampires and various "hidden" creatures living alongside the humans. Aradia is the last of her kind. A Witch, all the rest were exterminated. Aradia has no idea what she is and doesnt even know until much later that other paranormal creatures exist. I loved the mix of Vampires, Fae, Werewolves and Humans. I thought the story very complex but well worth the read. The complexity made the story fantastic. The rich detail, the complexity of emotions and questions is amazing. I can not wait to read the next volume. This book was given to me in exchange for an honest re [...]

One of the best books I've ever read. It has a touch of Harry Potter and a touch of Twilight. I say it's a MUST READ! I can't wait to get the next volume! This is definitely going on my Favorites Shelf!

I finished reading this one a couple of weeks ago and have since read the second book too.A very interesting concept of a teenager (Aradia) who discovers she is the last true witch ever.Very much a teenager's book, but I enjoyed the character development in this first book.

The premise is interesting, but the plot falters in a few areas. While it has vampires and werewolves - it does not copy the Twilight series, and in fact seems to stick to more common 'cannon' with regards to lore. Overall, it was pretty good - good enough I want to read the rest of the series.

I love the character of Aradia. It was great finding out where she came from at the beginning. I love that there was vampires and werewolves in it (made me think it was going to be a bit similar to Twilight). It actually turned out very different with who Aradia is and the other characters in it.

I loved this book! It is hysterically funny. I couldn't tell whether this was intentional or not but really, does it matter when one is hooting with laughter on every page! A very, very creditable effort for a child.
