*Sorry for spam, minor edits won't happen again :)*John was born with powers and abilities far beyond those of mortal men, and he often wondered why. But as a boy, it was simply wonderful to have those abilities. He could lift his father’s tractor overhead before he learned to read. He could outrace a galloping horse. 2.5 to 3-ish stars.#28 short story read in personal challenge.Feels like a retelling of Clark Kent's story; there are some almost poetic sections (e.g John exploring space) though I found the ending a little confusing.

Tor free short story.I'm not a huge fan of the super hero genre, so I was not thrilled that this was the next story in my Tor challenge. But this story was really quite good. I've never taken the time to realize how lonely being invincible could be.

An interesting variation of the Superman story, told with spare detail and the seriousness which sometimes keeps Superman from being totally absurd. It's only a couple hundred words and you can read it in a couple minutes.

This Is Not The Michael You're Looking For
The premise of this short story is essentially "What is the long term outcome of Superman?" where long-term starts at hundreds to thousands of years (and beyond). It's a very quick read, quite enjoyable and well thought out, with a few references to other famous SF ideas, such as Solyent Green.

Last Son of Tomorrow is interesting take on "Superman". His nemesis (A nod toward Lex Luthor) Teeter-Totter and his reasoning was probably the highlight of the story for me. This is a very short story. You can read it here. tor/stories/2009/05/la

This story made me cry, it was so beautiful. Can I give it 10 stars?

I just read this yesterday and have forgotten much of it already but I do remember that I enjoyed reading it. I liked the twist on Superman's background
