Reading, reading what s beautiful than a book Between each cover lie many worlds to explore Having spent her youth in an array of libraries, it is no wonder that the attic of Bealevon s home is filled with crates full of books.Due to the small German romance book market, fast reading Bealevon was forced to turn to the English language originals at last This improved her English so much she worked several years for a German publisher as an English reader in between other jobs Her first love of m f romances burnt out after a decade of mind clouding stories in the mid nineties, and she turned back to her hobby of reading about historical events.Delighted by the invention and spread of the ebook, she tentatively tried some free ones One of those happened to be an m m romance, and she was caught, hook, line and sinker Discovering books that were diamonds as well as coal shaped her taste Aside from fluffy fantasy and fairy tale, she likes action and fighting in her books And there are definitely not enough of them on the market For years, she dabbled in fanfiction and enhancement of existing stories for her own enjoyment, continually pulled between reading and writing by herself As soon as her son moved out, she grabbed the opportunity of self publishing at last, sat down and wrote in English although her high school English teachers probably turn over in their graves as she was a mediocre pupil at best She gets much needed solitude for working out the details of the chapters while walking her dog twice a day No effort is spared to make sure her stories are logical and believable, yes, even the fairy talesShe lives with her husband and her dog in northern Germany and loves to hear from her readers email her at bea b nolanWould you like to take a look at the pics that inspire her books pinterest bealevon

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. This is a competent novel with a balance of homosexual romance and adventure through which the characters are well developed. It tackles the period of post-WWII with accuracy as well as the harsh reality of the Soviet Union in the early 50's. Said characters are Juvven, a Finnish Saami hunter who gets drafted into the Red Army while visiting in the USSR and Andre, a French tailor. Their disparate cultural backgrounds are not ca [...]

I loved this story. It's different from most other MM Romance I've read, although, funnily enough, it is the second book about the Saami/Sami people I've read in the past couple of months (the other being Last Winter's Snow). In both cases, the stories are more accurately described as cross-cultural fiction with strong elements of love and romance. In A Night Sky, the story is set against a richly described backdrop of the post-WWII Cold War years and tracks the life of Juvven, a Finnish Saami sh [...]

This book gives us a relationship set primarily against the backdrop of Stalinist Russia after WWII. It manages to have a strong sense of realism, from the WWII street fighting to the gulag to the northern forests. And yet to give us two plausible guys who fall in love. It was different enough from the usual M/M to catch my interest. Juvven, a Finnish Saami caught up in the Soviet machine, is a pretty stoic and pragmatic guy, and that takes a little of the emotional angst out of what might have [...]

3.5 starsA well-written heart-rending historic m/m novel about two men struggling to find love and survive in the 1940s – 1950s. Be advised that this novel is based in a highly turbulent times and scenes of near-rape, Russian interment prison/concentration camps are described. Juvven is a Finnish Saami conscripted into the Russian military service. Andre is a French tailor. They meet as Olympic sharpshooters for Russia and France respectively and draw close due to their mutual lust and ultimat [...]

N.B. - A free copy of this book was provided by the author in exchange for an honest review in the MMRG Don’t Buy My Love Program. This review is spoiler-free.Let me also be honest—I really wanted to enjoy this book, and that probably contributed to why I enjoyed it so much. So, feel free to take my words with a grain of salt. I have been interested in learning more about Saami culture and traditions, and I feel that this author certainly did a lot of research and made this story feel authen [...]
