Q3.1 How do I report Spam, or other Usenet or e-mail abuse?

A3.1

For information on reporting abuse, please see: http://www.zedtoo.demon.co.uk/no-spam/faq2.html
There are sections about reading and interpreting headers, as well as advice on how to report abuse.

Q3.2 Are there any other Prisoner newsgroups?

A3.2

Not that I know of. Let me know if you find any (including Patrick McGoohan or Portmeirion groups). There is a slightly out-of-date FAQ to be found here:
http://www.faqs.org/faqs/tv/the-prisoner/part1/

Also let me know if you have a relevant mailing list and want details posted here.

Q3.3 What Prisoner websites are available?

A3.3

Lots and lots. I will list them here if the owners ask.

One I will list immediately is Roger Goodman's site for the McGoohan interview and the odd good book:
http://www.priz.biz

The newsgroup (via roger) has reported good links here:
http://dmoz.org/Arts/Television/Programs/Science_Fiction_and_Fantasy/P/Prisoner,_The/
(you may need to cut and paste this long URL into your browser's URL address window)

Kipp Teague (Retronaut) has a site featuring The Prisoner and other classic and cult TV shows at www.retroweb.com ;
The Prisoner page is at:
http://www.retroweb.com/prisoner.html

Clubs and groups:
**THE UNMUTUAL, a newsletter founded by Lew Stringer and other ex-Six of One members and co-ordinators, aims to serve as a noticeboard for fans who resigned from Six of One for ethical reasons as well as welcoming anyone interested in the social side of Prisoner fandom. An online supplement to THE UNMUTUAL newsletter has articles and reminiscences about the Prisoner location of Portmeirion, Clough Williams-Ellis, and more (including CGI versions of the original Rover machine!) and is available at:
http://unmutualupdate.tripod.com/news/

Six of One: The Prisoner Appreciation Society. (Please note: recent outrageous actions by its co-ordination team have caused large numbers of members and co-ordinators to leave the Society. As well as Six of One's remaining
co-ordinators' side of the story (presented to current members), it is worth hearing the other side of the coin; verified information about this now-disgraced Society can be found at: http://www.sixofone-info.co.uk/

Q3.4 Where can I find episode transcripts?

A3.4

Thanks to poster scott_uk2003, who has single-handedly begun the job:
"Episode 5 complete... just follow the signs." More to follow, we hope!

They can be found via this route:
http://www.prisoner.demon.co.uk/prisoner/scripts.htm

Q3.5 Did "The Prisoner" ever "Jump The Shark"?

A3.5

Don't ask whether anyone has seen the site www.jumptheshark.com because it annoys Alice :) But feel free to look up The Prisoner therein, for a discussion of whether the series ever went "off the boil", "too way- out", or indeed vaulted any predatory sea life.

Q3.6 Where can I buy Prisoner Costumes or other merchandise?

A3.6

The site http://www.priz.biz sells a selection of merchandise including a wide range of books and an interview CD. Check out the website for details of the latest items.

The Prisoner shop in Portmeirion sells some piped jackets (and used to sell Villager cloaks) but they may not be the same dark brown colour as Number Six's (see this FAQ section 2, Q26). The best way to get an authentic Number Six-style jacket is to buy a very dark brown blazer, then about 3 yards (2.5 metres) of 1-inch wide(2.5cm) cream/white piping (preferably fabric rather than tape) and sew the piping in a continuous strip around the lapels and hem (or get someone else to do it for you!).
There are people on the newsgroup who have made their own costume clothing and may offer advice if you ask politely!

Q3.7 All the signposts etc. in the Prisoner episodes seem to use a rather distinctive font face. Does anyone know its name, or if it's been created in a Windows format?

A3.7

a) Yes, it's called Village (a variation on 'Albertus' font) and it is available as a free download at many Prisoner sites.

The file is available at the following site: http://www.thepennyfarthing.com
To download it click here: http://www.thepennyfarthing.com/village.zip (Winzip or a compatible software is required to unpack it)

- Answer/links provided by Ronnie (Ronster)).
b) The prisoner's font is a standard one called Albertus (you might already have it installed - but in this instance it features opened out 'e's and 'i's with the dot removed.

If you find the following url they have a downloadable version:
http://www.the-prisoner-6.freeserve.co.uk/prisoner_art4.htm
To download it click here: http://www.the-prisoner-6.freeserve.co.uk/misc/prisfont.zip

- Answer/link provided by Matlock (International Man of Mystery)

c) It should also be pointed out is that there is a version of the font available for MAC at the following address:
http://www.netreach.net/~myronda/village_sit.hqx

- Answer/links provided by Ronnie (Ronster)).
